Angelina Jolie had a double mastectomy, in case you hadn’t heard. How dare she remove those ticking time bombs from her chest, amiright? Like, hasn’t she learned by now that her body is public domain and we all get to vote on what she does with it? Sheesh, how selfish can ya get.

    Perfect.

    fantastic

This is the best illustration of the situation ever.

This is the most common mantra in use in the world today. It literally means “The Jewel is in the Lotus” which sounds enigmatic but really has a deep meaning. Each syllable of the mantra in the Sanskrit language has multiple meanings. “Ma” for example means “creative force” it also means mother just as we see in languages all over the world “mater” “mutter”  and words like “madonna” and even “Mary”.  Om ma is “Amma” the name of the first creative force envisioned in ancient times as a goddess from which all things flow. This mantra is revered by the Gnostics as the “mantra of Christ” and see “Amma” as the “logos” the “word” from which all things emerged.
However, for all the deep spiritual meaning. It is the SOUND of the mantra which really matters. This is why people who speak many different languages do not translate this mantra. It is the sound of the Sanskrit words which have the power to focus our minds and to evoke the essence of spirit.
When we say “om mani padme hum” we should feel continual sense of “ooom” as we say the words. This rumbling “ooom” is felt in the solar plexus.  The words should be spoken in such a way that they flow, almost sung if you will. Not a distinct, clipped pronunciation but a flowing fluid pronunciation.
Try it wherever you are. You don’t have to sit cross legged on  floor. Say the words with different rhythms until you can feel the constant “oom” as you chant. Say the words over and over without thought until they are just meaningless sounds. Say them fast. Say them slowly. Find the rhythm that holds you. You will feel it the very first time you try it.
Sam.
